It is true to say that children are great consumers and potential clients. Every parent wants what is best for their children and a lot of them buy all the toys and new products intended for children that appear on the market: from cosmetics and accessories, to very sophisticated gadgets. To this latter group belongs children jewellery which has become very popular recently.
Every store selling toys or clothes for children has also got an accessories section which features jewellery for children from the age of 3 but also trinkets for babies. Such pieces can also be encountered in high-class stores which offer whole collections of child jewellery.
Jewellery offered in children stores has got the form of cute and funny accessories (necklaces made of wooden beads, crowns for little princesses, rings with a lip balm inside), whereas the trinkets offered by top-class stores are much more exclusive and sophisticated. These are obviously products targeted at little girls who, after their parents’ permission, can even wear diamond earrings.
The choice of child jewellery is very wide: there are necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings, brooches, hairpins, rings (mainly for young ladies, but older than 10), or richly ornamented watches. The offer is pretty impressive and the multitude of designs, sizes and colours is breathtaking.
However, we need to remember that children should treat such a gift as something really special and respect it as this is not just another teddy bear, jigsaw or board game. We have to teach our children to be grateful for such expensive presents and to take proper care of them. Child jewellery could be an excellent gift for such occasions as christening, the First Communion, birthday, etc.
